CORTIS break-in exposes illegal sales of K-pop stars’ private information
CORTIS had their home broken into by two women who told police they bought the group’s address online.
People are illegally selling private information of K-pop stars on social media. Listings include flight details, hotel names, and even home addresses for groups like BTS, SEVENTEEN, NCT 127, TXT, and TWS.
These sellers often post on apps such as X (Twitter). Buyers are then moved into private chat apps like Telegram or WeChat to complete transactions.
Big Hit Music is reporting those illegal accounts to the police. Stopping them quickly is difficult because the accounts use foreign platforms and it takes time to identify who is behind them.
Often, workers at airlines or hotels are the ones leaking this private data. Experts say these companies need much stricter security to protect this information. They also need better teamwork with international police to fix this problem for good.
