80-Year-Old Actor Shares Update on His 6-Year-Old Son Born Out of Wedlock
Kim Yong Gun is back in the spotlight with an update about his youngest son amid past baby controversy.
The controversy began in 2021 when the 75-year-old actor revealed he was expecting a child with a woman 39 years younger. The situation heated up after she said he urged her to abort the baby before changing his mind.
DNA tests in 2022 confirmed Kim Yong Gun is the father. He officially recognized his son and now supports and co-parents the child. Public opinion on the matter remains split.
Soon after, Kim Yong Gun made a revealing comment during a teaser for TV Chosun’s Joseon’s Lover. He talked about his late-in-life child while speaking with actress Hwang Bo Ra, his daughter-in-law.
In the clip, Kim Yong Gun almost mixed up the names of his grandson and youngest son. He called his grandson “Si On” instead of “Woo In.”
Kim Yong Gun said:
“My little one’s name is Si On. He’s grown a bit now, so rather than me taking care of him, I end up following him around.”
He added:
“Woo In is still a baby, so you have to keep your eyes on him. But my boy’s already six years old.”
