PSY concert scandal: Incheon fire chief under investigation for receiving 80 tickets

A fire chief from the Incheon West Fire Station is being probed for allegedly receiving 80 tickets to PSY’s Summer Swag Show 2025. The Incheon Police Agency’s Anti-Corruption Economic Crime Investigation Team confirmed the ongoing investigation as of August 21, KST.

The tickets were given by the concert’s organizing company under the claim it was to invite firefighters’ families. However, the chief failed to report the tickets to his agency head separately.

The Summer Swag Show 2025 took place in June in Incheon, featuring guest performances by BLACKPINK’s Rosé and BIGBANG’s G-Dragon.

After learning of the ticket issue, the Incheon Fire Department suspended the chief and reported him to police for violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, which governs gifts to public officials.

A police official stated:

“The fire chief in question is currently under investigation based on the fire department’s report.”

PSY’s Summer Swag Show is his annual summer concert series where fans enjoy his music while being sprayed with water under the sun. This year’s tour included stops in Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, and Busan, with the finale set for Gwangju.
