The controversy began with headlines claiming IVY and Song Seung Heon had been living together for years. The press was buzzing with it. Even the YouTube series she appeared on introduced her as “a key figure behind a rumor that shook the K-Entertainment industry.”

IVY explained how she adopted her dog during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I got to know a place called KDS Rescue and had been making small donations to them. They often uploaded photos of the dogs there, and one with a very striking, unique face really caught my eye. His nickname was Song Seung Heon. People had been calling him Song Seung Heon, or Charlie Chaplin, even Shinnosuke… Basically, any character with bold eyebrows. That’s how I first met Seung Heon. I messaged the rescue saying, ‘I’m curious about Seung Heon.’”

She revealed the dog’s full name actually includes her own surname. His name is Park Song Seung Heon.
“It was during a very cold winter, right in the middle of the COVID period, so I was spending a lot of time at home. I wanted to take care of him, so I went to the rescue center myself and brought him home. When I first met him, he was incredibly scared. When I tried to hold him, his whole body would tense up, so my first impression was that he needed gentle care. But then, I thought, ‘Wow… he looks hilarious.’ Seung Heon, blessed with a truly iconic face, became known for his thick eyebrows, resembling actor Song Seung Heon, so that naturally became his name.”

The real Song Seung Heon is far from involved in this mix-up.

The fan-favorite artist’s dog is thriving, and fans can finally breathe easy knowing the rumors are about a pup — not the famous actor.
