The controversy over the 2004 supporting actor group sexual assault case has just gained major traction. A public petition demanding a full investigation has passed the crucial 50,000-signature mark and is now officially under review by the National Assembly’s Public Administration and Security Committee as of January 13, 2026.

The petition titled “Petition Requesting a Parliamentary Hearing and Special Prosecutor for the Supporting Actor Group Sexual Assault Case” met referral requirements in less than two weeks and was formally submitted for committee consideration. The committee will decide if it should be discussed in a parliamentary plenary session.

The case centers on a female supporting actor, identified as B, who was sexually assaulted by 12 men linked to a filming set from August to November 2004.

“The victim, who worked as a supporting actor, was sexually assaulted and molested by 12 men, including a supporting casting team leader, in 2004. Despite this, the case never received a proper investigation due to the absence of effective law enforcement. A thorough investigation is also needed into the circumstances that forced the victim to withdraw her complaint. We are therefore requesting a parliamentary hearing and the appointment of a special prosecutor.

B filed a criminal complaint in December 2004, but the accused denied all charges. B faced secondary victimization during the police investigation, including inappropriate demands like drawing the shape of the perpetrators’ genitals and being forced to confront the accused men.

B eventually withdrew her complaint in 2006 after receiving threats. Tragically, she died by suicide in 2009, followed by her younger sister also taking her own life. Their father later died of a cerebral hemorrhage linked to the trauma.

The victim’s mother filed a civil suit against the 12 men in 2014 but lost due to the expired statute of limitations.

The mother has since protested publicly and runs a YouTube channel revealing the accused men’s identities and whereabouts. Although the men filed defamation suits against her, the court ruled in her favor.

This case is heating up again with the National Assembly taking the petition seriously. Public pressure now pushes for a special prosecutor and full parliamentary hearing to finally seek justice for the victim.
