Famous Actor Responds Directly to Controversy Surrounding 12-Hour Fan Event

Lee Soo Hyuk is facing controversy over his fan meeting in China last year—and he just cleared things up.

The controversy began with reports claiming Lee Soo Hyuk’s event in Hangzhou lasted 12 hours, leaving him exhausted and fans overwhelmed. The actor denied those claims in a recent YouTube appearance on January 22.

Lee Soo Hyuk explained it was hot and tiring during the event because of the lighting and the massive crowd. He said he thought only he was struggling but found out fans were also having a tough time.

Lee Soo Hyuk:

“It was hot because so many people came to see me, and I thought I was the only one struggling because of the stage lighting, but I heard the fans had a tough time as well.”

When asked about the 12-hour claim, Lee Soo Hyuk was blunt.

Lee Soo Hyuk:

“The article said 12 hours, but how could you do that for 12 hours? It’s not true.”

He added that he put in extra effort because fans were there to support him.

Lee Soo Hyuk:

“I was greedy because it was a gathering of people who love me. I felt like I had to do more because I knew it wasn’t a place I could just come and do it lightly.”

His agency previously stated the fan meeting lasted about six hours and 30 minutes. They noted it ran longer because Lee Soo Hyuk wanted to give his best to fans.

Lee Soo Hyuk also updated fans about his recent activities, sharing that last year he met many international fans and this year he’s filming a drama.
