Actor Park Bo Gum Gears Up for Career Change with New Certification

Park Bo Gum just passed a major exam while juggling his busy schedule!
The actor is aiming for a second career as a hair designer, and he revealed on the January 30 premiere of tvN’s variety show The Village Barber that he’s opening a small barbershop in Muju, North Jeolla Province. He’s joined by Lee San Yi and Kwak Dong Yeon on this new journey.
Park said he got interested in hairstyling from watching the many stylists who worked on his hair over the years. He started dreaming about living a “second life” as someone other than an actor.

During his military service, Park already earned a national barber’s license. But with The Village Barber, his dream grew bigger. He decided to take on an even tougher challenge — getting a national cosmetologist license. This would help elderly residents in rural areas with limited access to hair salons.

Despite his packed schedule, Park studied hard and passed the written exam. The cosmetologist certification exam is notoriously difficult, with only a 20-30% passing rate.

Who’s ready for Park Bo Gum’s hairstylist era?
