Blackpink Jennie’s $15 Million Cash Purchase Sparks Attention

BLACKPINK Jennie just dropped a major real estate bombshell.

She bought a building near Hannam New Town for a whopping ₩20 billion KRW (about $13.7 million USD). The deal was made back in May last year, with ownership officially transferring in December. No mortgage is listed, so it looks like she paid full cash.

The building is in Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. It’s currently used as the Embassy of Iraq in Korea. The place was built in 1970, covers a land area of 595㎡, and has 551.08㎡ across one basement and two floors. The price per pyeong is about ₩111 million KRW (roughly $76,200 USD).

Dongbinggo-dong’s value is on the rise thanks to Hannam New Town redevelopment and Yongsan Park projects. Nearby sites include the Hannam 5 redevelopment and luxury residential areas built on former U.S. military sites.

Jennie isn’t new to big real estate moves. Last year she rented a building in Hannam-dong for her one-person agency Odd Atelier. The rent was reportedly over ₩60 million KRW ($41,200 USD) monthly. She also paid ₩5 billion KRW (about $3.43 million USD) in full cash for a luxury villa in UN Village in 2023.

This latest buy confirms Jennie’s solid “young and rich” image as she continues dominating both music and real estate.
