JYP Entertainment’s Statement on TWICE Dahyun’s Health Sparks Backlash

TWICE’s Dahyun is facing heat after it was revealed she performed with a fractured ankle for over a month during the group’s US tour.

The controversy began when JYP Entertainment confirmed Dahyun had been in pain since early January but only recently got a proper fracture diagnosis. Despite her injury, Dahyun kept going on stage, sometimes sitting on the side to perform.

Fans exploded online, blasting JYP for ignoring basic care like X-rays, rest, or even an ankle brace.

“JYP, WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING???!!
She spent an entire month in the US with a literal fracture, a FRACTURE and not a single person thought to get her a proper Xray, make her rest, or even give her something as basic as an ankle brace? Instead, she was traveling and continuing…”

“She didn’t show any sign of pain, just kept performing for the fans while lying on the stage. Did Dahyun even know her ankle was fractured?”

“Ah, f. The more I think about it, these people are insane. She’s the type who hardly ever complains about being in a bad condition just so fans don’t worry, and she was already frustrated because treatment wasn’t helping — and now you’re telling me that while she was abroad, she didn’t even get a proper diagnosis? What kind of tour is this… f, the company should just shut down.”

“You mean they dragged someone with a fracture around for the schedule without even giving proper treatment…? lol”

Netizens sympathized with Dahyun and slammed JYP for negligence.

  • “Wait… they just left a fracture untreated?”
  • “Oh my god, she endured a fracture for a whole month?”
  • “If it was left alone for a month, couldn’t it have healed incorrectly? These crazy people.”
  • “It was probably a stress fracture..”
  • “ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ”
