BTS Breakup Speculation Ignites Backlash Following Billboard Article

BTS is facing backlash over a misleading Billboard headline.

The controversy began when Billboard shared an article about BTS’s recent GQ Magazine interview. The headline and tweet said, “Despite RM saying he’s considering disbanding ‘thousands of times.’”

This quote was from a past livestream by BTS leader RM, not the new interview. Fans slammed Billboard for taking old comments out of context to get clicks.

The BTS GQ Magazine editorial itself was positive and hopeful, showing the group united and ready for their comeback.

“I have considered disbanding thousands of times.”
— RM (past livestream comment)

Fans didn’t hold back on Twitter, calling the headline lazy and bitter:

“What a f*ck ass headline…”
— @o_biennis

“And that’s why GQ gets the scoop and the big spread in 15 countries and BB magazine gets … to report on it.”
— @LetsBeGoodHuman

“oh i know y’all are mad as hell they didn’t choose you for their first group cover post-hiatus lmfao”
— @userlesbien

“that’s why we don’t give this fuckass publication clicks”
— @y00ngipurrs

Fans say Billboard is still bitter BTS didn’t do their comeback interview with them and have called out past poor treatment of the group by the publication.

Billboard has yet to respond to the backlash.
