Leading Actor Speaks Candidly About His K-Drama Intimate Scene

Ahn Bo Hyun is facing controversy over a sudden sex scene in the hit drama My Name.

The scene shocked many viewers when it appeared in the last episode. It showed Ahn Bo Hyun and Han So Hee sharing a steamy moment in a remote beach house.

Han So Hee revealed she wasn’t told about the scene until after signing the contract. But Ahn Bo Hyun later explained how he viewed the scene and the mixed reactions online.

He sees the scene as raw emotion between two damaged people, not just a typical love scene.

“As I saw people being divided in opinion regarding that scene, I saw that it could be interpreted in different ways. For me, as both Jiwoo and Pildo have scars, I hoped that they would become a source of comfort to each other.
Regarding the sex scene, it was the process of how Jiwoo changed from a monster, due to Pildo. Regarding that part, I thought that it would bring about emotions of a love scene.”

He also said he didn’t feel pressure filming the scene since he, director Kim Jin Min, writer Kim Ba Da, and Han So Hee talked it through thoroughly beforehand.

“Director Kim Jin Min, Writer Kim Ba Da, Han So Hee and I discussed it lots before we filmed it and so I think that I didn’t feel much pressure but was able to be immersed in Pildo’s emotions.”
