BTS V’s Alleged Clapback in Livestream Ignites Intense Reaction

BTS’s V is facing backlash after a recent livestream sparked controversy.

The situation began during his live broadcast on February 21, where V gave fans a tour of his new home and chatted casually. The livestream came days after he was caught up in drama over text messages with former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.

During the stream, V played several jazzy tracks before suddenly switching to Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now.” When the lyrics, “I don’t see how you can hate from outside the club/ You can’t even get in” played, V gave a suggestive look to the camera and walked away, which many saw as a direct response to the recent hate and criticism aimed at him.

Fans reacted quickly online:

But the move wasn’t sitting well with everyone. Critics slammed V for playing a Chris Brown song, pointing out Brown’s history of abuse.

“playing a chris brown song a woman beater is very on brand for him ”
— @jenfiIIed on Twitter

“Shading a woman he has beef with by playing a song of a woman abvser…..”
— @namopinkhole on Twitter

“since likes are private, can we all agree he’s the official manchild in kpop”
— @velvetv1per on Twitter

“how he felt doing all that”
— @onyaurmark on Twitter

Fans argued he never named anyone or mentioned specifics, so the song choice shouldn’t be overanalyzed.
