Fifth-Generation Girl Group Member Reveals She Could Have Debuted on TV Much Sooner

Ian revealed an unexpected twist to her TV debut on JTBC’s Knowing Bros.

She shared that she could have debuted on TV not as part of SM Entertainment’s girl group, but on You Quiz On The Block with Yoo Jae Suk instead.

Ian said she had so much energy she even tried being a YouTuber and did mukbangs. That energy landed her a spot on You Quiz On The Block when the show was doing neighborhood interviews.

She explained:

“At the time, they were going around the neighborhood doing interviews. I even answered a quiz correctly and won prize money.”

Sadly, the segment she appeared in was completely cut from the final aired episode. All that’s left is a photo with the show hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho, proving she was there.

Luckily for Ian, SM Entertainment saw her talent and reached out via Instagram DM to recruit her as a trainee.
