Korean Actor Revealed by Girlfriend to Be Married Man

Actor Mr. B is facing controversy for lying about his marital status while dating a woman with marriage in mind.

The controversy began when a woman in her 30s, called Ms. A, revealed on JTBC’s Crime Chief that Mr. B hid the fact he was married. He promised to marry her but was actually still married.

Ms. A met Mr. B a year ago after seeing a play. Mr. B said his parents owned a famous restaurant and opposed his acting career. He claimed he wanted to succeed without their help.

Soon after, Mr. B got serious. He told Ms. A’s parents he wanted to marry her. They accepted him and even supported him financially. They sent coffee trucks to his theater and gave lunch boxes to his castmates. When money issues came up, Ms. A’s parents helped too.

Mr. B never introduced his own parents, saying he’d only do so after succeeding. But then Ms. A found out he was married before. Mr. B admitted it but said he was divorced.

Mr. B:
“I was married, but I am already divorced.”

Ms. A got angry and demanded he return the money. Mr. B apologized on his knees, crying. She gave him another chance.

Soon after, Ms. A discovered the real truth. She visited the restaurant run by Mr. B’s parents and found out he was still married, living separately from his wife.

Ms. A had given tens of millions of won, trusting his claims about debts and rent. Her parents also kept supporting him, thinking wedding plans were next.
