NCT’s Doyoung Opens Up About Mark’s Departure Amid Military Service
NCT member Doyoung, currently serving in the military, broke his silence on fellow member Mark’s recent exit from SM Entertainment and NCT.
On June 3rd, Doyoung took to social media to share his honest feelings. He said,
“I felt that saying nothing and just waiting for things to pass isn’t who I am, nor is it fitting for NCT 127, so I will express my feelings in my own words.”
Doyoung reflected on his close bond with Mark, explaining,
“He was a friend I loved more than anyone, and still love unconditionally, so we talked and listened to each other for a long time. Although there were many stories and feelings shared along the way, I believe it’s better to express the feelings of ‘us’ aligned with the current situation, rather than pulling out everything from the past.”
He showed understanding and support for Mark’s choice, adding,
“I cannot speak for Mark’s feelings, but I would be truly grateful if you could listen to Mark’s long-held sincerity and worries without prejudice.”
Despite Mark’s departure, Doyoung promised fans that the group’s unity remains strong:
“Although you won’t see Mark performing with NCT 127 for a while, if that moment ever comes when we can be together again, I will prepare and plan earnestly.”
He emphasized the group’s commitment to their fans, saying,
“Going forward, NCT 127 will not be NCT 127 without someone; as promised with our fans, ‘NCTzens,’ we will remain a team that is proud, confident, and never mediocre on stage, no matter the form we take.”
Doyoung also warned against rumors and misunderstandings:
“There is one thing I want to say firmly: If suspicion and speculation arise between Mark and the members, it would bring unbearable sadness and injustice.”
He urged fans to protect the group’s legacy:
“Please, please help us preserve the unique beauty we have built with our fans over more than 10 years.”
Closing his message, Doyoung vowed to bring happiness to fans despite the sadness:
“I believe we cannot simply suppress the inevitable feelings of loss and sadness, but I will work hard to bring you happiness that is even greater than that ahead.”
Mark’s departure was officially announced earlier, confirming he ended his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment and would no longer be active with NCT.
Other NCT members quickly showed support by commenting on Mark’s social media accounts.
