Seventeen’s DK to enlist Sept. 8; Vernon begins alternative military service Aug. 20

Seventeen‘s DK will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army on September 8, and Vernon will begin his alternative military service on August 20, Pledis Entertainment announced.
Pledis Entertainment posted a notice titled “SEVENTEEN DK and Vernon Military Service Information” on Weverse on July 27.
The agency said DK will finish all scheduled activities before heading to the training center and that there will be no separate public event on his enlistment day. Fans were asked not to go to the training center because the enlistment ceremony is a private occasion attended by numerous recruits and their families.
Vernon is set to start his alternative military service on August 20, and Pledis also asked fans not to visit his assigned workplace while he is serving.
Pledis noted that once both begin their service, they will be unable to take part in Seventeen’s group activities but will still share pre-recorded content with fans known as CARAT.
Pledis Entertainment concluded:
We ask for your continued love and support so that DK and Vernon can fulfill their military duties and return in good health.
Seventeen entered its military enlistment period in 2024. Jeonghan was discharged from alternative military service last month, while Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi are currently serving their mandatory military duties.
