The controversy started after many fans flooded him with DMs suggesting hospitals and medical advice for having a second child.

On March 18, Jin Tae Hyun addressed the flood of messages.

Jin Tae Hyun:
My wife and I always love, cherish, appreciate, respect, acknowledge, care for, and put each other first.

Many fans still send me DMs with advice on good hospitals and treatment methods, urging me not to give up on having a second child. But we haven’t given up; we have now decided to let go for the sake of our love alone.

He made it clear that IVF was not an option they are considering anymore.

If we had wanted to rely on medical treatments like IVF, we would have done so long ago. Even now, I love my wife more than the idea of children, so I have no intention of causing her physical or emotional pain in the future. So please, stop sending us those DMs.

Jin Tae Hyun also opened up about the couple’s difficult journey.

Our journey hasn’t been easy. We have endured deep, untold wounds, my wife’s great pain, my surgery — it hasn’t been all good. But we hold onto the belief that hardship is a blessing and keep going.

The couple will now focus on their love instead of having another child.
