ADOR Appoints New Lawyers for Lawsuit Against Danielle and Min Hee Jin

NewJeans member Danielle is at the center of a major legal battle as ADOR replaces its legal team in the ₩43.0 billion KRW (about $29.1 million USD) damages lawsuit against her and former CEO Min Hee Jin.

The music industry reported on the 12th that ADOR has appointed four new lawyers from the Lee Han law firm and requested a change to the court’s trial schedule.

This comes after all five lawyers from the Kim & Chang law firm, who previously represented ADOR, resigned on April 24.

The controversy began during the first preparatory hearing in March at the Seoul Central District Court’s 31st Civil Division, where the parties clashed over the trial schedule.

ADOR asked to postpone the hearing by about two months, wanting to wait until the ongoing put option lawsuit between HYBE and former CEO Min is resolved.

Danielle’s side accused ADOR of intentionally delaying the lawsuit. ADOR denied this, saying there was no intention to delay and stressing the need for careful review due to many disputed issues.

“There was no intention to delay and emphasized the need for careful consideration due to many disputed issues.”

The court rejected ADOR’s extension request and set two new hearings for May 14 and July 2.

Soon after, ADOR expelled Danielle from NewJeans in December last year, citing serious violations of her exclusive contract. ADOR also filed the hefty damages suit against Danielle, one of her family members, and former CEO Min Hee Jin.
