American Pop Star Allegedly Takes Content From BLACKPINK

Bebe Rexha is facing controversy after fans accused her new song snippet of copying BLACKPINK’s hit “Jump.”
The drama started when Bebe Rexha shared a teaser for her upcoming album Dirty Blonde on social media. The album will have 13 tracks, all with music videos. She posted a video snippet of songs, similar to K-Pop “Highlight Medleys.”
Fans quickly pointed out that the song “Hysteria” sounded suspiciously close to BLACKPINK’s “Jump.” Soon after, comparisons flooded Twitter — some slammed it as a “blatant rip off” while others said it was just “the same instrumental with better vocals.”
I’ve never heard such a blatant ripoff of a K-pop song in western music it’s so fascinating because it’s almost always the other way around

As the situation blew up, fans debated the similarities. Many argued both songs draw from Dutch Eurodance, popularized by acts like Vengaboys in the 90s. They said claims of stealing were overblown.
people who says this sounds like jump/brat are so uncultured and uneducated this is literally just club

People like ‘she copied Jump’
Well no. It’s Dutch Eurodance. Vengaboys popularised it in the 90s.

This flips the usual narrative as K-Pop is often accused of borrowing from Western music. Now an American star is in the hot seat for sounding too close to a K-Pop banger.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK recently faced backlash for a different “copying” controversy involving Usher.
Stay tuned.
