Bangchan of Stray Kids Takes Strong Action Against Users Sharing Deepfake Videos

Bangchan of Stray Kids is taking legal action against deepfake videos. The leader of Stray Kids has announced his attorney is pursuing anonymous users who posted explicit deepfake content featuring him on social media.

On September 5, a California federal judge approved Bangchan’s request, allowing him to compel X (formerly Twitter) to disclose the identities of the accounts involved. Bangchan filed the application on September 1, 2025, with his bandmate Felix doing the same shortly after on September 3, 2025.

Court records have identified two X accounts that used AI to create videos showing Bangchan making racist and obscene remarks. He has publicly denounced these videos, stating they have caused him significant stress and hurt.

The court’s ruling enables Bangchan to request crucial account details, including sign-up emails and registered phone numbers. This information will aid in his civil lawsuit at the Seoul Eastern District Court.

Felix is following a separate legal route against different anonymous users.

Bangchan’s legal representative, Jeong Kyung Seok, has previously tackled high-profile cases, including tracking down the notorious YouTube creator, Sojang.

Stay tuned for updates on this unfolding legal battle!
