BIGHIT MUSIC Addresses BTS Disbandment Rumors Directly

BTS shuts down disbandment rumors amid comeback hype
Disbandment rumors about BTS have been swirling since their 2021 hiatus. Now, BIGHIT MUSIC vice president Kim Hyun Jung is putting those rumors to rest.
Kim, who returned to BIGHIT MUSIC last July after working as the first Korean executive at a major US record label, was personally brought back by HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk and the BTS members themselves.
In a recent interview with The JoongAng, Kim revealed that the hardest part of preparing BTS’s new album was helping the members face their fans again after such a long break.
When asked about the viral military enlistment and disbandment rumors, Kim immediately dismissed them.
“If the members heard that, they’d find it absolutely baffling. That’s just how tight-knit they are.” – Kim Hyun Jung
BTS made their official comeback on April 20 with the album Arirang, ending a three-year, nine-month hiatus. The album topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts, holding the latter spot for three consecutive weeks.
Their ongoing world tour is the largest ever by a Korean artist and has already sold out.
The album’s foundation was laid during a two-month songwriting session in Los Angeles last summer, where BTS and their composers worked closely together. This creative process is featured in the Netflix series BTS: The Return.
With Kim Hyun Jung’s clear statement and BTS’s record-breaking return, fans can finally put disbandment rumors to rest.
