BLACKPINK’s Rosé is facing backlash over her GRAMMY “For Your Consideration” box.
The controversy began when it was revealed that Rosé, along with Lady Gaga and Alex Warren, sent out these promo packages to GRAMMY voters. Rosé’s box included her album Rosie, a t-shirt, and other items with an “APT.” theme.

Many fans were excited about the boxes. But some netizens slammed Rosé, calling it a “bribe” for Western validation. Others argued that if any HYBE group did the same, they’d be accused of payola immediately.

The treatment of K-pop idols at the GRAMMYs has always been debated. Rosé’s invite to send promo boxes is seen by many as a chance to gain more exposure—but critics call it desperate or unfair.
