BLACKPINK Rosé’s 2026 Grammy Snub Draws Spotlight Due to BTS Link

BLACKPINK’s Rosé faces another tough loss at the Grammys.
The 68th Grammy Awards happened on February 1, 2026. Rosé’s track “APT.” was nominated for multiple big categories: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Song Of The Year, and Record Of The Year. She partnered with Bruno Mars for “APT.” in the duo/group performance category.
The nominees in this category were KPop Demon Hunters (HUNT/X: Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami with “Golden”), KATSEYE’s “Gabriela,” Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT,” SZA featuring Kendrick Lamar’s “30 for 30,” and Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s “Defying Gravity.”
The winner? Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
This sparked controversy because Ariana Grande has now blocked a K-Pop act from winning in this category twice.
Back in 2021, BTS was the first K-Pop group nominated (“Dynamite”) and lost to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande for “Rain On Me.” Now Rosé joins the list after another Ariana win. Fans aren’t holding back their feelings about this.

Despite the disappointment, many congratulated Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande on their win.
The Grammy race in this category is quickly becoming Ariana vs K-Pop. And Ariana is winning—for now.
