BLACKPINK’s Rosé is facing backlash for missing a major solo award event.
The controversy began after Rosé was awarded the prestigious Presidential Citation at the 16th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards. The singer earned it for her global success as a soloist with her hit song “APT.”
But Rosé didn’t attend the ceremony to receive the award in person.
Fans quickly noticed she was at the airport with BLACKPINK earlier the same day, flying out to Thailand where the group has upcoming concerts.
This sparked outrage. Fans argued she should have delayed her flight so she could accept the award.
