Boynextdoor’s ‘No Genre’ Exceeds 1 Million Sales in Just 5 Days
BOYNEXTDOOR has reached another significant achievement with their latest mini album, ‘No Genre’, released on May 13. The album surpassed 1 million cumulative sales just five days after its release, with a total of 1,074,316 copies sold by May 17, according to Hanteo Chart.
This sales figure eclipses the first-week performance of their previous album, ‘19.99’, which sold 759,156 copies in its debut week. The group’s ascent has been impressive; their debut single album sold approximately 110,000 copies, followed by mini albums with first-week sales of around 450,000 and 530,000 copies.
‘19.99’ marked their first million-seller, reaching that status in about six weeks. In contrast, ‘No Genre’ achieved this in just five days, underscoring the group’s increasing popularity.
Globally, ‘No Genre’ has received strong recognition, topping the Oricon Daily Album Ranking in Japan on May 14 and 15. The album’s title track and B-sides also charted on China’s QQ Music Soaring Chart on May 14.
The title track, ‘I Feel Good’, entered Melon’s Top 100 shortly after its release, further indicating strong digital performance. The group recently enjoyed back-to-back hits, following their January digital single ‘One Day I LOVE YOU’.
BOYNEXTDOOR has actively participated in the songwriting process, infusing their music with relatable stories and genuine emotion. Their “everyday-life-inspired” sound, combined with dynamic live performances and versatility across various genres, has fostered a dedicated fanbase.
Their chemistry is also evident in original content series like ‘WHAT? DOOR!’ and ‘WITH BOYNEXTDOOR’, with some episodes surpassing 1 million views on YouTube.
Currently, the group is promoting ‘I Feel Good’ on various music shows, including MBC’s If You Rest, You’re Lucky, SBS PowerFM’s Cultwo Show and Love Game, as well as KBS Cool FM’s Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show.
