BTS and SM Entertainment Clash: 5th-Generation Idol Ignites Intense Debate

Sion from NCT WISH is facing controversy after revealing company restrictions during a fansign.
At a fansign event in Shanghai on October 2, Sion was asked if he could do the “Killin’ It Girl” dance challenge, originally by BTS’s J-Hope.
Sion said he really wanted to do it but couldn’t because of “their situation” and “the company,” hinting at a restriction from SM Entertainment. Still, he briefly performed the dance anyway.
Twitter user 愛♡̆̈ shared a clip of the moment:

The comment about company restrictions immediately brought up SM Entertainment’s rumored rivalry with HYBE and BTS. Fans recalled past accusations of sabotage and criticism SM producers allegedly threw at BTS during their rise.
Some fans reacted strongly, calling out SM’s history of targeting BTS. Others found the situation amusing and joked about it.
Older armys probably remember how SM was actively involved in trying to sabotage BTS during their rising years. In fact even until 2017 so many SM producers would openly accuse BTS of plagiarism on SNS. And would often pass snaky comments to belittle their hardwork.

When you remember that SM’s one-sided hatred of BTS goes all the way back to at least 2014 when they were telling people not to work with BTS and to go work with their groups instead because BTS were an “experiment” and a “filler group”

As the situation spreads online, fans debate SM’s approach to BTS content and the ongoing company tensions. No official statement from SM or NCT WISH yet.
What do you think about Sion’s reveal and the SM-HYBE rivalry drama?
