BTS Confirms Full-Group Return With New Album Scheduled for Next Spring
BTS has officially kicked off preparations for their highly anticipated full-group comeback, sparking excitement among fans worldwide. On July 1, the entire group reunited for a special livestream on the global platform Weverse, marking their first joint appearance on the app in nearly three years.
This get-together was a treasured moment for BTS and ARMY alike, as the members gathered for the first time since completing their military duties. Right at the start of the broadcast, Jimin set the tone with heartfelt words.
"We’re back. We’re finally all together again," Jimin
He also opened up about appreciating the simple joys of daily life after his service:
"It’s such a blessing to hold my phone in the middle of the night. Being able to scroll through it while lying in bed again feels amazing," Jimin said.
The members also reflected on their recent solo activities. j-hope’s ongoing solo tour, Hope on the Street, attracted attention as several members showed up at his concerts at the Goyang Sports Complex, even joining him on stage.
"It’s been a while since I watched a daytime performance. I really enjoyed it," SUGA commented.
"The run time and everything—it was genuinely so much fun," Jimin added.
Likewise, Jin’s solo fan concert, Run-Seokjin: Episode Tour, held at the same venue on June 28 and 29, received praise from the group, especially for his piano playing.
The biggest news from the livestream was the announcement of their next group album. RM shared encouraging words about their plans moving forward:
"We’re going to make an incredible album. Starting in July, we’ll begin focusing on making music together," RM
When RM asked about the release timeline, V excitedly confirmed:
"Next spring!" V
This places the comeback album’s release in spring 2026, marking a major milestone for the group. Jimin offered more clarity on why the new album is only starting to take shape now:
"Some of you might have expected something right after we were discharged, but we couldn’t prepare anything while serving. We need to start from now," Jimin
Although they kept details about the album under wraps, the members hinted that it would be a full-length studio release — potentially their first since Map of the Soul: 7 dropped six years ago.
Looking ahead, V revealed plans to work on music in the U.S., and RM suggested it could turn into a traveling songwriting camp:
"We might start in the U.S. and move around to different places," RM
Wrapping up the livestream, RM gave fans something to look forward to beyond the album:
"Our new album, the first in six years, will come out next spring. We’re also planning a world tour after that. Just wait a little longer," RM
With BTS officially regrouping and diving back into music-making, the long wait for their next chapter is finally over — and the countdown to spring 2026 has begun.
