The controversy began when Jungkook went on a following spree on TikTok, including many K-pop artists. Fans were excited, especially when he finally interacted with aespa, fueling dating rumors with Winter.

Soon after, Jungkook reposted dance challenge videos and other content featuring BTS’s music. Fans joked about how he seems to repost everything when online.

Recently, Jungkook liked and interacted with posts from izna’s account, including a video of Jungeun dancing to BTS’s “Hooligan.” This interaction caught attention because Jungeun is 18 years old—10 years younger than Jungkook.

The situation escalated when some accused Jungkook of inappropriate behavior for liking posts unrelated to BTS and using emojis like “” for a minor.

“i love Jungkook, but him using ” emojis for an girl of 18, in addition to liking her posts unrelated to #BTS, is weird. Jungeun #IZNA is 10 years younger than him and it’s not the first time jk interacted differently with minors of 23. He needs to find a woman his own age!!” — @DDD0IA

Fans quickly defended Jungkook, condemning the sexualization of his normal interactions.

“you’re actually the sick one for sexualizing a normal interaction he has with a girl and thinking an emoji or a like means anything else. how twisted does your mind have to be to even come up with that interpretation? you’re gross” — @golsdenn

“yall sexualize the most normal, supportive interactions between kpop idols and then wonder why male and female idols don’t like interacting with each other” — @EU4HORIAGGUK

Jungeun also received support as netizens called out the misogynistic nature of the sexualization directed at her.

“You guys are so misogynist. A girl can’t get praised by the biggest star in her industry without her own fans sexualizing her. Free women from gg stans.” — @Windhamster_

As the situation unfolded, fans continued to defend Jungkook’s social media behavior, emphasizing that his interactions are normal and supportive among idols.
