BTS Marks 12th Anniversary with ‘BTS Festa’ Before Full-Group Return
After a long pause due to mandatory military service, BTS is back together and ready to celebrate big for their 12th debut anniversary. The military duty started back in 2022 with eldest member Jin enlisting, and since then, the members have been coming back one by one. Jin finished his service last June, then J-Hope returned in October, both diving into solo projects afterward.
Just recently, the lineup got even closer to full with RM and V discharged on June 10. Following that, Jimin and Jungkook were also discharged on June 11, bringing six of the seven members back. SUGA, who is serving as a social service worker, is set to finish his service on June 21—meaning the entire group will soon be reunited.
To mark this reunion alongside their debut anniversary, BTS Festa is shaping up as one of their biggest celebrations yet. The festivities happen every year on June 13, commemorating their 2013 debut with the single "2 COOL 4 SKOOL." Over the years, BTS has carved out their own space in K-pop by not just performing but by writing, composing, and producing their music, which has helped them grab global attention. Their resume includes topping Billboard charts—making them the first Korean act to do so—a speech at the United Nations, and taking home the top prize at the American Music Awards.
This year, the anniversary and upcoming full-group comeback will be celebrated on a historic level. On June 13 and 14, the event will take place at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2 in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province. Fans can enjoy over 20 interactive booths offering tons of offline activities designed to create a memorable experience. For those who can’t make it, the festival will also be streamed online. Leading up to the main event, content such as ‘Hoseokjin Photo,’ ‘Anchor Battle,’ and ‘Today’s ARMY★613’ has been rolled out from June 2 to 13 to keep fans worldwide connected.
A huge highlight of this year’s BTS Festa is J-Hope’s world tour encore concert, "HOPE ON THE STAGE," which will take place on June 13 and 14 at the Goyang Sports Complex near KINTEX. The concerts will feature brand-new songs from J-Hope, making it a special moment perfectly timed with the anniversary—something that ARMYs everywhere are really excited about.
Beyond the concerts, the KINTEX venue will be transformed into a fan paradise. The centerpiece is a massive ‘ARMY Bomb Photo Spot’ featuring a giant version of the signature lightstick, paired with a spectacular lighting show. Fans can also visit the ‘Voice Zone’ to listen to messages from the members, check out the ‘Trophy Zone’ filled with BTS’ impressive awards, and explore the ‘BTS Locker’ displaying personal items from the group.
The festival includes hands-on attractions too. Visitors can design pin buttons and sachets at the ‘DIY Zone,’ color in BTS album artwork at the ‘Coloring Wall,’ or relax while listening to playlists personally curated by the members on Spotify. All these elements come together to make this year’s BTS Festa a truly engaging and unforgettable celebration for the global fanbase.
