BTS V’s Solo Song “Singularity” Hits Over 1 Million Units Sold in the US
BTS member Kim Taehyung, better known as V, has hit a major milestone with his solo track “Singularity.” The song, part of BTS’s 2018 album Love Yourself: Tear, just crossed 1 million units sold in the U.S., making it eligible for Platinum certification by the RIAA.
“Singularity” came out on May 7, 2018, and quickly became known for its smooth blend of R&B with neo-soul and jazz vibes. The track really puts Taehyung’s rich and soulful voice front and center, paired with expressive choreography that adds a lot of emotional weight. The lyrics dig into themes like loss, identity, and self-reflection — which has struck a chord with many listeners.
Critics responded well to the song’s moody atmosphere and deep production values. The Los Angeles Times even named it one of the “Best of 2018: The 10 (or so) songs that demanded to be replayed,” calling “Singularity” BTS’s “most arresting song” of that year.

This achievement marks another important moment for Taehyung’s solo work and adds to BTS’s many record-breaking accomplishments.
