BTS Wardrobe Malfunction at Comeback Concert Confirmed as Intentional

BTS is facing wardrobe rumors after their comeback live show at Gwanghwamun Square.
On March 21 at 8 p.m., BTS performed at BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG to celebrate their fifth full-length album, ARIRANG, released the day before on March 20. HYBE reported the event drew around 104,000 fans.
The controversy began when fans noticed RM, known as the “God of Destruction,” appeared to rip his pants on stage despite limited movement due to an injury.
Fans quickly reacted online:
“Ripped his pants even when he didn’t do major dances and was almost sitting the whole time??? God of destruction indeed ” — aish⁷ (@minyo0n9i)
“Jungkookie be like ‘oh hello honey thighs’” — anonymous⁷Ai (@anonymousai_)
As the situation unfolded, it became clear RM’s pants weren’t ripped by accident. The holes were part of the design.
“Not ripped designed like that, top to bottom cuts inside” — SMF ᴮᵀˢ ²·⁰ (@SetMeFreePt2JM)
The outfits were created by Korean designer Jay Songzio’s label, Songzio. The comeback collection, “Lyrical Armor,” draws inspiration from Joseon-era armor with a modern twist. Jay explained each member’s look represents a role in the ARIRANG story.
“For the individual members within this general story, each member has their own strong image. RM, who has this very charismatic presence as the leader, became in our story the hero.”
— Jay Songzio
