BTS’s SUGA Finishes Last Day of Public Service on June 18, Officially Discharged on June 21

SUGA of BTS has wrapped up his public service duties as of June 18, using his remaining annual leave days to officially finish work ahead of his formal discharge date. According to a News1 report on June 19, although SUGA’s official discharge is set for June 21, he no longer needs to report for duty, having completed his service through an approved leave process.

The rapper began his alternative military service on September 22, 2023, which included his basic military training period. His completion means all seven BTS members are either discharged or close to finishing their military responsibilities, building excitement among fans for the group’s full reunion.

This recent development aligns closely with several significant moments for BTS. On June 13, just days before SUGA’s final day, he was spotted attending j-hope’s solo concert. Sporting a beanie and mask, he quietly supported his bandmate, fueling speculation and excitement for a group comeback.

The past couple of years have seen BTS members enlist one by one. The eldest member, Jin, started this chapter in December 2022 and returned in June 2024. j-hope followed, completing his service in October 2024. RM and V were discharged together on June 10, with Jimin and Jungkook returning on June 11. Now, with SUGA’s public service completed, the lineup is basically back together.

Just a day after SUGA finished his service period, BTS celebrated the 12th anniversary of their debut. Their agency, Big Hit Music under HYBE Labels, organized the ‘2025 BTS FESTA’ event on June 13 and 14 at KINTEX in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. Meanwhile, j-hope wrapped up the final shows of his first solo world tour at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium, sharing heartfelt moments with fans.
