BTS’s V Secures Third Place on Worldwide Influencer Ranking Behind Ronaldo and Messi

BTS V is proving his massive influence on social media is far from fading, even after finishing his mandatory military service. Recent data from HypeAuditor ranks him as the most influential Asian celebrity on Instagram and the highest-ranked entertainer among global influencers, standing out in a list topped by sports legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Breaking down the numbers, V is placed third overall on HypeAuditor’s ‘Top 1000 Most Influential Global Influencers’ list. This comes ahead of big names like Selena Gomez (4th) and Kendall Jenner (5th), emphasizing his unique position as a music icon in the influencer world. When it comes to locations, V holds the top spot in the United Kingdom and ranks third in both the United States and Brazil, two key markets for K-pop and global fandom.

His dominance is particularly clear in the music category, where he’s ranked first. This is notable because he hasn’t yet resumed active music promotions since his military discharge. Still, V’s social media presence continues to outshine many, with over 68.07 million Instagram followers as of July 4 (KST). Out of those, more than 12.4 million followers are from the United States, the largest American fanbase for any K-pop artist.

On top of that, V’s Instagram follower count jumped by 1.22 million within just 25 days after his military discharge. This is the fastest growth recorded for any K-pop star, showing his ongoing appeal and growing fan engagement. SocialBook, an influencer marketing platform, backs this up with stats showing V’s engagement rate over the past 60 days sits at an astonishing 20.6%. This makes him the highest among celebrities worldwide, even with comment restrictions on his posts.

When looking at total follower counts globally, V ranks 75th, but his average likes per post tell a different story. His posts regularly pull in more than 12.5 million likes, with averages going beyond 14 million—numbers hardly matched by any other global celebrity.

Just recently, V headed to Paris on July 4 (KST) to attend a Celine fashion show as their global ambassador. His departure sparked worldwide buzz, trending on Google in over 40 countries including South Korea, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Japan. On X (formerly Twitter), the phrase “HAVE A SAFE FLIGHT TAEHYUNG” hit the top spot on the worldwide trending list, with the top four trending topics all related to him, highlighting his massive global influence.

This ongoing wave of attention cements V’s place not just as a member of BTS, but as a solo global icon whose reach continues to grow even when he’s off major promotional cycles.
