‘Canceled’ Actor Delivers 22-Minute Emotional Video Following Job Termination

Han Ji Sang is facing fresh attention after posting a 22-minute video responding to a past sexual harassment controversy.
The controversy began back in 2020 when a female fan, known as Fan A, accused him of sexual harassment. Han Ji Sang’s agency said they met around May 2018 with mutual interest but later drifted apart. Fan A then claimed sexual harassment and demanded either a public relationship or a large sum of money.
Han Ji Sang has always denied the harassment claims and filed a criminal complaint against Fan A for extortion and coercion. Prosecutors cleared Fan A of charges. Investigators found no evidence of forced harassment, but Han Ji Sang dropped out of projects amid the controversy.
In his recent video, Han Ji Sang details how they met, when Fan A first mentioned harassment, and her money demands. He said he was introduced to Fan A by a senior theater colleague after she showed interest via Instagram.
Han Ji Sang said their first meeting wasn’t fan and star but a private date. They shared drinks, mutual attraction, and natural physical contact, he claims.
“While I was working on a production in 2017, a sunbae actor I was performing with showed me a screenshot of an Instagram DM from a woman asking to be introduced to me.”
“After the show ended and I had some free time, I contacted her since she had left her job information and phone number in the DM. That’s how we ended up meeting in person.”
On deciding to end things, Han Ji Sang said Fan A’s attitude changed.
“On September 10, 2019, while I was performing in a show, I received a message from her. There was an overwhelming amount of text with serious content. The way she addressed me had changed, and what I strongly felt was intimidation. It was being framed as though it had been unilateral sexual harassment.”
He shared a phone recording where Fan A allegedly said:
“What happened back then wasn’t sexual harassment. It wasn’t something you forced on me. In that moment, at that time, I liked you too.”
Han Ji Sang claims Fan A demanded ₩500 million to ₩1 billion KRW (about $333,000 to $665,000 USD) or a public relationship lasting a year. He asked her lawyer about the money, and it was lowered to ₩300 million KRW (about $200,000 USD).
“If someone is intimidating me by calling it sexual harassment when it wasn’t, how could I possibly have a relationship with that person? It made no sense to me. When I asked her lawyer if I had really done something wrong worth ₩500 million KRW (about $333,000 USD), she lowered it to ₩300 million KRW (about $200,000 USD)…”
Han Ji Sang says he reported this to his agency and pursued legal action, but prosecutors found no criminal charges were warranted. He insists he never committed any sex crimes or been punished.
He plans to take strong legal action against online malicious comments.
