ENHYPEN Surpasses 2.18 Million Pre-Orders for ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH’
On June 4, ENHYPEN demonstrated their significant sales prowess once again, as Belift Lab announced that pre-orders for their upcoming 6th mini album, titled ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH,’ have crossed an impressive 2.18 million copies. This milestone marks the group’s third double-million seller, following the success of their previous mini-album, ‘Orange Blood,’ which also surpassed 2 million in total sales last year.
The group’s ascent in the K-pop sphere is clear, particularly with their second full album, ‘ROMANCE: UNTOLD,’ which achieved first-week sales of 2.34 million copies upon its release in July last year. In 2023 alone, ENHYPEN has sold a remarkable total of 5.45 million albums. Their chart performance has been noteworthy as well, with placements on both the IFPI’s 2024 Global Album Sales Chart and the 2024 Global Album Chart, ranking 2nd and 4th respectively—making them the highest-ranking K-pop artists in those categories.
Fans can expect a new thematic direction with ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH.’ While the previous ROMANCE series focused on themes of pure love, this latest work explores deeper, more intense feelings of desire. The title track, "Bad Desire," captures this evolution, expressing a yearning to “turn their beloved into a vampire.” The emotional delivery of ENHYPEN’s vocals injects an urban, sexy vibe into the song.
In terms of contributions, member Jay took an active role in the creative process, co-writing, producing, and even playing guitar on the track "Helium," proving his versatility as an artist. The mini-album features a total of six tracks: "Flashover," "Outside," "Loose," "Too Close," in addition to the title track and "Helium."
