EXO’s Suho Reveals Parents’ Careers as Educators, Surprising Fans With Academic Family Background
EXO’s Suho brought a refreshing mix of humility and humor to the premiere of the newly rebooted math-focused variety show, Problematic Men reboot: math edition, which aired on June 23 on tvN.
The show’s main goal is to help viewers regain confidence in math through entertaining and brain-teasing challenges. Host Jun Hyun Moo, the only original cast member who returned, opened the episode by introducing the fresh lineup of contestants. He admitted,
"Of all the former ‘Problematic Men,’ I’m the only one left. Since I’m not great at math, I’ll introduce you to new faces who are."
He also joked about how the show’s concept had evolved over the years:
"Ten years ago, I called it the ‘brain-sexy era’—now, it’s time for the ‘math era.’"
When it came to Suho’s academic background, Jun Hyun Moo highlighted it with obvious enthusiasm. But Suho quickly dialed down those praises with a laugh,
"I went to an arts high school, so I basically didn’t take the math section on the college entrance exam."
This sparked a playful comeback from Jun Hyun Moo,
"Did you not hear what kind of show this is?"
to which Suho admitted,
"Yeah, I’m a bit worried."
Despite his joke about avoiding math in school, Suho opened up about his impressive family roots in academics, revealing a family deeply rooted in math and science:
"My father is a professor of economics, my mother was a math teacher, and my older brother went to graduate school at KAIST."
Fellow cast member John Park couldn’t help but acknowledge the brainy family,
"You’ve definitely got it in your blood. That’s a brainiac family."
Throughout the episode, the cast members shared their personal struggles with math, making the show relatable while working through a series of fun and challenging problems. This reboot aims to put a fresh spin on the classic, focusing strongly on math skills and pushing the guests’ wits to the limit.
With this mix of humor, honesty, and challenge, Problematic Men reboot: math edition seems set to attract viewers who want to enjoy math in a new, entertaining way.
