Famous Actor Duo Responds to Rumors About Adopting Adults

Park Si Eun and Jin Tae Hyun are facing questions about why they only adopt adult daughters.

The controversy began after their appearance on SBS’s Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny aired on June 2.

They addressed rumors about adopting only adults. Park Si Eun said this is the first time she’s talked about it.

“This is the first time I’m talking about this. When we first considered adoption, it wasn’t about adults. We thought about young elementary school children. It wasn’t easy. We also needed parental consent… Aside from Ji Hye, the other two girls were connected to us from a young age and became family. Only Ji Hye came into our lives as an adult. We’re not deliberately adopting only adults.” — Park Si Eun

Jin Tae Hyun explained the legal difficulties.

“Because the kids in their 20s became family, there were many opinions asking why we didn’t adopt children. The system is very difficult. Ji Hye and the other daughters are not legally adopted. It’s very challenging.” — Jin Tae Hyun

“They are more like foster daughters.”

Jin Tae Hyun revealed the youngest daughter is 24 and shared why the daughters keep private lives.

“They said their own lives are very important and they want to be protected. The daughters choose whether or not to be publicly introduced. They are independent and have their own lives. Since we don’t post them on social media, many people ask about them. You don’t need to worry too much. Everyone is doing well.”
