Fans Express Outrage Following TXT’s Soobin Revealing He Was Abused As A Trainee

TXT member Soobin is under fire after revealing painful trainee days marked by corporal punishment.
In a recent Weverse livestream, Soobin shocked fans by confessing that hitting trainees was common. He and fellow member Taehyun were physically punished when they failed to learn choreography properly.
Soobin recounted how, as middle schoolers, they were forced to learn difficult SEVENTEEN choreographies with only a week or two of dance experience. Trying to learn by watching slowed-down videos wasn’t enough.
Taehyun confirmed in the live chat:
“soobin & taehyun talking about them getting hit as trainees as a form of punishment for not dancing well”
Soobin admitted,
“We basically learned through being hit.”
He added that some trainees who struggled more were hit even worse. The harsh treatment left both shaken.
Soobin also said practices have changed since then, and corporal punishment is no longer allowed.
The revelations have sparked outrage online, with fans slamming BIGHIT MUSIC and condemning earlier K-pop trainee culture for abusive practices.
Fan reactions poured in:
“They put their hands on a 13 and 15 year old who had been trainees for like two weeks OVER FUCKING CHOREO…horrible ass abusive companies” — @Hipployta
“hitting anyone is wrong – but hitting a bunch of kids who most likely were away from their family… is a level of evil that makes my blood boil.” — @phosphoroki
“between soobin admitting that they used to get hit AND the recent staff incompetency… hybe/bighit staff is evil and useless and clearly have always been that way.” — @gyuetiful
The controversy is gaining traction amid ongoing scrutiny of trainee welfare in the industry. Fans continue monitoring the situation closely.
