G-Dragon Faces Backlash Over 2025 MAMAs Performance
G-Dragon is facing backlash over his 2025 MAMA performance.
The BIGBANG member took the stage on November 29, KST, at the awards ceremony’s second day. He won the coveted Artist of the Year Daesang, marking a huge moment in his career.

He performed a 15-minute set featuring tracks from his new album Übermensch and older hits. Beatboxer Wing from Beatpella House joined for a solo segment. The live audience cheered loudly for the strong production and G-Dragon’s stage presence.

But online reaction quickly turned sour.
Critics slammed G-Dragon for heavy AR use and almost no live singing. During “Heartbreaker,” he stopped mid-performance repeatedly and barely did the choreography. Viewers complained his live voice during “Untitled, 2014” was barely audible in the first half. Many said he looked restless, possibly due to nerves.
Comments flooded community sites focusing on his weak live vocals:
“He didn’t sing Heartbreaker at all…? Then he should at least dance well or give a good performance… but he didn’t do that either. Is he really an artist? ㅠㅠ He even admitted in the Son Suk-hee interview that his voice isn’t the same as before. If he wants to stay active as a singer, he really needs to get treatment or do some vocal training.”

“Not surprised. Just don’t show up at places like that anymore.”
“Tone-deaf… but as far as I remember, he’s always been about the same.”
“I mean, if you have any conscience, you should stop milking it already with this level of skill.”
