Photos from rehearsals for the play Dead Poets Society showed Yeon Jung Hoon deeply focused. But all anyone noticed was the luxury timepiece he wore.
The watch is a limited-edition piece by Dutch luxury brand Grönefeld. It costs about €155,000 EUR – or roughly ₩270 million KRW ($177,000 USD).
This sparked fresh chatter on Yeon Jung Hoon’s well-known wealthy background. He’s the son of veteran actor Yeon Gyu Jin, who’s rumored to have major real estate holdings.
TV Chosun’s Pumpkin Seed reported Yeon Gyu Jin’s parents were pharmacists. He built his fortune through businesses like a movie theater and acting school, then invested heavily in property.
Yeon Jung Hoon is often called a top “gold spoon” star in the industry. His wife, actress Han Ga In, shared before that they first lived with Yeon Jung Hoon’s parents in a luxury townhouse in Pangyo. That home sits on about 250 pyeong land. Later, they moved to a high-end villa in Seoul.
Fans joked that Yeon Jung Hoon’s watch might just be a small sign of his overall wealth.
