HYBE Quickly Addresses Min Hee Jin’s Surprising Proposal About NewJeans

Min Hee Jin is facing controversy over a multi-billion won lawsuit against HYBE.

The drama started with a court ruling ordering HYBE to pay Min Hee Jin ₩25.5 billion KRW (around $17.6 million USD) over a shareholder agreement and put option dispute.

On February 25 in Seoul, Min Hee Jin held a press conference to react to the verdict. Shockingly, she offered to give up all the money if HYBE dropped all lawsuits involving the girl group NewJeans.

“I’m here to inform you that I’ve decided to exchange the ₩25.6 billion KRW (about $17.8 million USD) for something else. The most important reason being the members of NewJeans.”

She added she plans to leave her role as former ADOR CEO and move forward with her new label, OOAK Records. Min Hee Jin emphasized her hope for HYBE to respond positively to her offer.

“We had a creative vision together. It’s regrettable that we couldn’t achieve that. I now intend to shed the label of former ADOR CEO and embark on a new path with OOAK Records. I hope HYBE will continue a positive approach to my offer.”

HYBE responded simply, saying they have no specific position on Min Hee Jin’s offer.

“We have no position on this matter.”
— HYBE

The situation remains unresolved as both sides hold firm.
