I-DLE Releases Retro-Inspired Title Track “Good Thing” MV
(G)I-dle has made a striking comeback with their new mini-album titled We are, featuring the title track “Good Thing.” At the album’s press conference held in Seoul on May 19, member Soyeon expressed her desire to experiment with a new concept, saying, “I wanted to explore a concept we’ve never done before.” The song tackles the bold theme of confronting a cheating lover, with Soyeon emphasizing its daring lyricism from a female perspective.
Describing her reaction to the demo, Yuqi stated, “It felt like I got shocked. I asked, ‘Is this autotune real?’ It was so different from what we’ve done before.” Minnie added that the track’s nostalgic autotune reminded her of early K-pop songs that originally captured her heart.
The release of We are marks the group’s first comeback since all members renewed their contracts and features contributions from each member in songwriting and composition. “Good Thing” blends retro elements with a confident narrative, marking a significant evolution in (G)I-dle’s musical identity.
