ITZY’s Yeji Issues Apology to Fans, Igniting Online Backlash

Yeji is facing backlash after announcing she’ll stop playing online games with fans due to misunderstandings and hurt feelings.
The controversy started when Yeji posted a message on Bubble explaining why she’s stepping back from gaming with MIDZYs. She said some fans got hurt or misunderstood during their gaming sessions. She apologized and said she values all fans equally but won’t be playing games with them anymore.
MIDZYs! While playing games with MIDZY these days, there were some times when some fans were getting hurt or misunderstood. I should have thought about that more deeply, and I’m sorry. Since all MIDZYs are equally precious to me, I will no longer play games with MIDZY. I had a lot of fun playing together, and it relieved my stress during my spare time, so thank you. Let’s continue to make good memories together!
— Yeji
Fans quickly reacted with frustration, saying Yeji deserved better treatment.

the company (& toxic fans) never let the girls do anything & everyone, especially the members, suffer bc of it. some of you are never satisfied with anything & dedicate yourselves to spreading misery. find something else to fulfill you if you aren’t happy & leave them alone. https://t.co/JWXZv6ItmM

That online game Yeji has been playing is like her safe space, and the fact that she allowed MIDZYs to enter that space should make them grateful, but some greedy and entitled fans have ruined that safe space https://t.co/f74VJcc7oW
