Jeongyeon of TWICE to Star in Military Comedy Film ‘The Recruit: The Movie’

This will mark her acting debut, nearly a decade after her K-pop debut, as she takes on the role of an army nurse officer.

The Recruit: The Movie is a spin-off of the hit South Korean drama series The Recruit, which has gained a loyal fanbase for its blend of realistic and comedic takes on military life. The original show kicked off with Season 1 in 2022 and successfully released its third season in April 2025. While the series mainly focused on the everyday lives of military personnel inside a unit, the movie shifts the narrative onto a military hospital setting.

The script is still being finalized, but filming is expected to start later this year. Jeongyeon is already adjusting her schedule to get ready for the shoot, showing her commitment to this new chapter.
