Jin of BTS Commended for Neutral Outfit During Presidential Election Voting
On June 3rd KST, BTS’s Jin made his mark in South Korea’s political landscape by casting his vote in the 21st presidential election. He visited the polling station at the Jungbu Vocational Training Center located in Yongsan District, Seoul, specifically at Hannam-dong No. 3.
In a deliberate move to remain neutral, Jin was seen wearing a gray hoodie pulled over his head. This clothing choice has been noted as particularly thoughtful, especially given the recent backlash celebrities faced over similar fashion decisions. Figures like Karina, Hong Jin Kyung, and Beenzino encountered criticism for wearing colors associated with specific political parties.
The presidential election is taking place at 14,295 polling stations across the nation, with voting hours extended to accommodate voters from 6 AM to 8 PM. This particular election is a by-election, following early voting that was conducted on May 29th and 30th.
As voters head to the polls, Jin’s low-key approach to voting stands out, reflecting the delicate line public figures must walk in political matters.
