K-Pop Fan’s $67,000 Debt Without BTS Next Year Surprises Renowned Financial Advisor In Cautionary Message

K-Pop fan blows through thousands, ends up $70K in debt

A K-Pop fan’s spending spree just got out of control — she’s nearly $70,000 in debt after overspending on concerts and merch.

The controversy started when financial YouTuber Caleb Hammer sat down with Presley, a 27-year-old woman from Texas, for his series Financial Audit. Presley revealed she drained her savings chasing K-Pop dreams.

She pulled money from her 401(k) retirement fund to pay for a concert trip. Then she sold $7,000 worth of stocks to fund another concert — without thinking about taxes. Now, she’s in debt and regretting every dollar spent.

“She has ‘spent’ all of her fun money for the next few years on merch and other items,” Caleb Hammer said.

Presley also owns $10,000 worth of BTS merch but Hammer says she should sell it if she wants to afford BTS’s upcoming tour.

“She will need to use [the merch] to recover from overextending her funds,” Hammer added.

Hammer didn’t criticize Presley’s love for K-Pop, just warned against reckless spending leading to deep debt. Presley’s story is a cautionary tale about balancing fan passion and finances.
