Korean Actor Steps Down To Pursue Career As Firefighter

Ahn Chang Hyun shocks fans by quitting acting to become a firefighter.
On June 8, the 30-year-old actor announced he would retire from the entertainment industry to pursue a career saving lives instead.
“You probably aren’t very curious, but I want to be clear, so I’m leaving this message,” Ahn said.
“I am stopping my career as an actor and planning to become a firefighter who rescues and saves lives.”
He added his motivation is simple.
“It’s simply because I want to save people,” he explained.
“I intend to keep trying until I succeed.”
Born in 1995, Ahn Chang Hyun graduated from Cheonan Technical High School.
He appeared in dramas like Long-Distance Relationship Trap, The Kidnapping Day, Ms. Incognito, and the movie 6/45.
Fans and netizens are surprised by this unexpected career switch but seem supportive of his new mission.
