Fans quickly took Maggie’s comment as a passive-aggressive jab aimed at Jennie, accusing her of desperately trying to get Jennie’s attention and leeching off the group’s fame.

The controversy began after KPop Demon Hunters revealed a collab with Fortnite, giving its in-universe group HUNTR/X exclusive in-game skins. Fans paired these skins with K-pop dance emotes, including Jennie’s “Mantra.”
