LE SSERAFIM’s “DIFFERENT” Takes the Top Spot on Oricon Chart
LE SSERAFIM has made a strong move into the Japanese music scene with their latest release, landing at No. 1 on Oricon’s Daily Single Ranking right out of the gate. Their 4th Japanese single, titled DIFFERENT, hit stores on June 24 and scored an impressive 98,898 points on its first day.
This new single is a milestone for the group, as it features their first original song in Japanese alongside a fresh take on their previous hits. The release includes three tracks: the title track DIFFERENT, a Japanese version of the title song HOT from their 5th mini album, and Kawaii, which is known as the theme song for the upcoming Netflix series My Melody & Kuromi.
The title track DIFFERENT is also noteworthy because it marks LE SSERAFIM’s debut in the disco-funk genre. The song was pre-released on June 9 and is praised for its catchy melody that’s already catching on with fans.
Their popularity in Japan isn’t new territory. Their debut Japanese single, FEARLESS, topped four major Oricon charts: daily, weekly, combined weekly, and monthly, showing strong staying power. Now with DIFFERENT, the group seems ready to push their own limits even further.
To add more excitement, LE SSERAFIM is gearing up for encore concerts at Tokyo Dome, scheduled for November 18 and 19, which is a huge deal for any group breaking into the Japanese market.
