Man Arrested for Counterfeiting BLACKPINK Tickets, Earning Over 80 Million KRW (Approx. 58,000 USD)

A man in his 30s was caught and arrested for selling fake concert tickets for BLACKPINK, one of the world’s biggest K-pop groups. The incident took place in Seoul, where police acted on a tip and nabbed the suspect, known only as Mr. A, at a café in Dongjak-gu on the evening of June 17 around 9:20 p.m.

The tickets he tried to sell showed clear signs of forgery — including spelling mistakes and tampering. Authorities verified the tickets through the official ticketing platform, confirming they were counterfeit. After the swift arrest, the Dongjak Police Station announced on June 18 that the man faced multiple charges, including fraud.

Further investigations revealed Mr. A managed to scam buyers by selling roughly 500 fake tickets over a secondhand trading site. It’s estimated he made close to 80 million KRW, which is about 58,000 USD from the fraudulent sales.

Police are still digging deeper to find out the full scope of his crime and whether he’s involved in other illegal activities connected to this case.

This case highlights the ongoing issues with ticket fraud in the entertainment industry, especially for high-demand events like BLACKPINK concerts.
